Symptoms of narcolepsy include daytime tiredness, unexpected sleep episodes, cataplexy, sleep paralysis, and hallucinations. Narcolepsy has no treatment or recovery. Fortunately, therapy and lifestyle changes help moderate narcolepsy symptoms. Artvigil 150, which contains armodafinil, treats daytime drowsiness caused by narcolepsy, OSA, and shift work sleep disorder. While Artvigil 150 may increase alertness and decrease daytime drowsiness, it does not cure narcolepsy. Narcolepsy is treated with stimulants, antidepressants, or sodium oxybate to treat symptoms such daytime drowsiness, cataplexy, and hallucinations. For narcolepsy patients, following a regular sleep pattern, taking brief naps, and avoiding alcohol and caffeine before bedtime might help control symptoms and improve quality of life. Narcolepsy cannot be reversed, but with good treatment and help from healthcare experts, people with it may live happy lives and control their symptoms to minimize their influence on everyday life and personal well-being.
